In 2024, the government of Western Australia introduced 'nirsevimab', a monoclonal antibody offering protection from respiratory syncytial virus (RSV), for eligible infants. This study explores why parents of infants who were eligible to receive nirsevimab opted to decline or delay the immunisation.
Diabetic kidney disease (DKD), mainly due to type 2 diabetes (T2DM) is the leading cause of end-stage kidney disease globally. However, DKD prevalence in sub-Saharan Africa, particularly Ethiopia, is underexplored, especially using reliable markers like quantified albuminuria and cystatin C based estimated glomerular equations (eGFR). This study aimed to assess DKD prevalence and associated factors using multiple diagnostic markers.
Immune checkpoint blockade (ICB) evokes antitumor immunity through the reinvigoration of T cell responses. T cell differentiation status controls response, with less differentiated cells having an enhanced capacity to proliferate after ICB. Given that conventional type 1 dendritic cells (cDC1) maintain precursor exhausted T cells (TPEX), we hypothesized that expansion of cDC1s with Flt3L could enhance responses to ICB.
The Education Department of Western Australia advocates for culturally responsive schools. Aboriginal Indigenous Education Officers are employed by schools to facilitate and enable the potential for Aboriginal school children to thrive in school settings.
Dissociative disorders in children and young adolescents are under-recognised and under-treated. Current diagnostic criteria rely on downward extensions of adult models and do not adequately consider developmental differences in younger populations. This reliance risks overlooking symptom patterns that may be unique in childhood, thereby perpetuating diagnostic gaps and delayed treatment.
Online sports betting has become a profitable segment of the global gambling industry, with young men identified as the demographic most likely to engage in online sports betting and at risk of gambling problems.
To characterize sleep profiles in individuals with neurogenetic disorders (NGDs) and examine the contribution of key clinical and psychiatric symptoms to these profiles.
Siblings of individuals with neurodevelopmental conditions have unique experiences and sometimes additional challenges, especially in rural areas where there may be limited access to sibling-specific support services.
There is a lack of digital gatekeeper resources developed for parents to assist them in recognising and responding to mental health problems in their children and adolescents. We aimed to address this by exploring parents' mental health information needs, and to iteratively develop and design a resource incorporating their feedback.
University students face obstacles while pursuing their goals, and these challenges risk undermining their mental health. Goal flexibility has been identified as beneficial for promoting well-being and protecting mental health; however, the relationship between goal flexibility and mental health challenges remains underexplored.
